As We Move into the School Year

As we move into the school year while wrapping up our summer, the Rotary Club of Katy and the team at the Wild West Brewfest have been planning for the 2018 event. For over 25 years the Rotary Club of Katy has given back to our young Texans in the form of scholarships from our annual Triathlon held in the Fall of each year. Together with the Wild West Brewfest and the Triathlon during the 2016/2017 fiscal term, our club gave back well over $200,000 to various causes and we are anticipating equally to greater than that for the 2017/2018 year.

As you could imagine, our events would in no way be successful without the help and financial support of you and your company. With the 6th Brewfest in the “books”, we knew from the first one that sponsors will make the event work, without the commitment from our sponsors this event would be in no way as successful as we are today. We are grateful to you and your teams for trusting us to put on this event.

With your help, we have been able to fund several programs thus far and with more to come. Our latest endeavor was helping the Firefighters home in the Medical Center for all first responders to stay while undergoing cancer treatments. We as a group feel that these first responders are here for us and now it is time for us to be there for them, Over half of all firefighters suffer from some form of cancer, with your help donating money to this home was the right thing to do. As you might know, our Annual Flights and Bites also help support this cause being held October 14th. As with any WWBF or Rotary events, 100% of the net profits are donated back to our community. Should your schedule allow, please log onto the Wild West Brewfest website to purchase your tickets.

We are excited to announce to you additional projects that we are helping:

Camp Hope $5000

Camp Hope provides interim housing for our Wounded Warriors, veterans and their families suffering from combat related PTSD in a caring and positive environment. We are excited to help this worthy cause, as so many of our military come back with much more than just exterior scars.

West Side Homeless, $3000

Westside Homeless Prevention has been providing hope and the opportunity for a better future for homeless children and their families on the West Side of Houston. Helping those in need that fall into hard times is something that our club strives to do. We are proud to give to this organization where studies indicate that $20 of long term value created for each $1 in program investment.

Taylor High School – KISD $500

We are proud to continue to support our local High School Band organizations, with this money young students that cannot attend certain off campus functions will have the opportunity to.

Katy Christian Ministries $2000

KCM continues to help many families in and all around Katy through Gods Grace and the Generosity of the community. WWBF and the Rotary Club of Katy also will commit to several thousand pounds of meat being donated to KCM once the FFA Auction is completed. KCM offers several programs such as Social Services, Food Pantry, Crisis Management and counseling services.

Armor of Hope $3000

Armor of Hope is a Katy Non-Profit that touches many lives, serving the community while focusing on families and children is one of the reasons among many why we are excited to support this great organization

Thank you once again for your support, we truly owe you our gratitude, as it is you who make our event special. We know you have several opportunities to donate your capital throughout the year, we are grateful that you chose the Brewfest – thank you.
